Collect Some Thought Karma
One concept I have always believed and understood is karma; what you put out into the world is what you get back. Simple, effective and mindful. It stems from Buddhist and Hindu beliefs about doing good and the concept is straight-forward. You collect good karma by doing good things and bad karma by doing bad things. But I believe that karma stretches beyond our actions to our thoughts. Positive affirmations collect good 'thought' karma and the result is positive events in our lives, where negative thoughts manifest into bad experiences in life.
Positive affirmations are a phenomena which I am unable to fully explain...why is it that if we think we are successful, then we become successful or if we start believing we are beautiful we look in the mirror and like what we see. Part of the attraction of positive affirmations for me is the slight magic of these simple phrases repeated over and over. The results always seem quick and large if you use affirmations the right way, AND if you believe the affirmations. Now back to my theory of 'thought karma', the more positive thoughts and the more positivity you put out into the universe, the more positivity will come back to you in your life.
Traditional karma also relies on us not only being good people within ourselves, but also being kind to others and doing random acts of kindness for others. This also applies to thought karma, the thoughts you think about others and the judgements you make should be kind ones. As much as we like to believe the things we think about others stay inside our heads, if you think nasty things about others then you are collecting bad thought karma.
So, the message in all this thought karma....Think kind, think positive, think good.
Stay happy :) Erica
